Avenues '09 - The annual business event of IIT Bombay

Avenues '09- The annual business event of IIT Bombay organized by the School of Management will be a two day extravaganza of management events, competitions, workshops and seminars to bring out your business acumen and creative prowess.u00a0 The event spanning 31st Oct and 1st Nov will be a fantastic platform for budding young managers and entrepreneurs to showcase their talent. The theme for Avenues '09 is "People, Planet and Profit" - a concept where social, economic and environmental considerations collectively appraise corporate performance. All the management events that are lined up will focus on this "Triple Bottom Line" and the air is rife with the possibility of new ideas and ventures emerging from this B-fest.

AVENUES also brings forth the participation of distinguished world - renowned personalities including the well known actor and activist Mr. Rahul Bose, former SEBI chairman, Mr. M. Damodaran, Videocon chairman Mr. Venugopal Dhoot, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan- the founder of Rediff, and many others.

Keeping up with the theme of Avenues, the events lined up for AVENUES'09 including HarIT- the Green IT event and "Ashwamedh - The Championship Event" focus on the green theme and sustainability of the people-profit-planet trilogy.

u00a0Navonmesh is the international entrepreneurship convention, which highlights the hurdles faced by start-ups with regard to sustainable business ideas. A truly refreshing event is Imagine it! - A platform which gives free reign to creativity and features global creativity challenges, including the 'Imagine it! - Documentary film series'.

Samvaad, the flagship Consulting event of Avenues 2009, is a case study competition, being judged by FICCI, which goes beyond business to provide a strategic initiative to reach out to the masses. Other events to watch out for are Mudra, the flagship finance event which is partnered by NCDEX wherein the finalists selected after some rigorous initial rounds from all across India would be trained by the NCDEX officials to perform trading on their platforms for the finals being held at the IIT Bombay, Powai campus.
