An Ulhasnagar builder has complained to the local Hill Line police station that four people picked him up from the area and took him to Dagdi Chawl, threatening him with weapons. There, he met one Viju Gawli, who allegedly demanded Rs 60 lakh from him.
Builder Anil Balu Kuche (in pic), who is a Shiv Sena shakha pramukh, had purchased a shop near Jhulelal market in Ulhasnagar and allegedly had a dispute with local builders Ram and Nandan Wadwa over the purchase of the shop.
On May 15, Ram and Nandan Wadwa and one Manoj Pardeshi allegedly approached Kuche, brandished a pistol, and asked him to sit in their car. They took him to Dagdi Chawl, where he was taken before Viju Gawli, who threatened him and asked him to pay R60 lakh to the Wadwas.
“I was produced before Viju Gawli, who threatened that he would finish me if I don’t pay up,” said Kuche, who owns around five shops in Ulhasnagar. Arun Gawli, who is a murder convict, had been released on parole for 15 days for his son’s May 9 marriage and has managed to get extension of the parole.
