It's get-set-go to 10 Janpath for Congress leaders confident of win in Assembly polls

The results of the Assembly elections will be out only tomorrow but political bigwigs from the ruling Congress party have already begun the process of booking their air tickets for Delhi to meet their party's high command over the formation of the next state government.

According to an agent with a ticketing agency in Andheri, who wished to remain anonymous, "We have received requests from some Congress leaders to book tickets for the day of the results, but we cannot name them as it is a political issue. However, all the requests are only for economy class tickets." Another ticketing agency in Santacruz confirmed that they too have received similar requests. "But we have not booked any ticket as yet."
Not me
However, politicians have their own explanations for booking the tickets. Kripashankar Singh, president of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee said, "I was in Delhi last week on my way back from Vaishno Devi temple. I met the Congress president then and so, I am not sure I will go to Delhi on counting day. I may go the next day." He refused to confirm whether he will travel by air or not.

Krishna Hegde, Congress candidate from Vile Parle, said, "I may not go on counting day but of course all the big party leaders will go to meet the high command." Sanjay Nirupam said, "I have not decided yet."

Meanwhile, BJP remained silent on the issue, "We are not like the Congress, whose members have to meet the high command to take any decision. All our decisions will be taken here," said a secretary of state BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

When Ashok Chavan met Sonia
Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan met Sonia Gandhi for 30 minutes at her residence in New Delhi on Friday to assess the ground realities ahead of government formation.
He expressed confidence that the Congress-NCP alliance will form the government for the third time in Maharashtra. Chavan said he met Gandhi
to wish her on Diwali, but refused to answer who will
be the next chief minister of the state.
