The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors informed on Wednesday that 61 resident doctors are found positive for Covid-19 at JJ Hospital.

Incidentally, there is already a shortage of resident doctors in the city; with many others out of action on account of Covid, it will hamper patient care, said President of Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), Dr Avinash Dahiphale as quoted by ANI.
Meanwhile, in the national capital, as cases continue to rise unabated, over 100 health workers at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) tested positive for Covid-19, over the last week.
It is to be noted that JJ Hospital was among the three hospitals the resident doctors of which had decided to suspend OPD services in protest against the NEET-PG counselling delay.
However, resident doctors in Maharashtra, who were on strike due to the delay in NEET-PG counselling and other issues, have called off their protest on Tuesday.
The number of Covid-19 infections in Mumbai jumped past 10,000 on Tuesday, registering a rise of 35 per cent in 24 hours. The cases have been rising constantly even as the number of daily tests remain almost the same. The test positivity rate (TPR) rose to 22 per cent, after 10,860 of the 49,661 samples tested positive.
