A 26-year-old man went missing from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, from where he was to board a flight to Qatar on December 25. A resident of Khed in Ratnagiri district, Muzammil Hasan Duduke (26), remains active on Facebook and has changed his profile name on the social networking website to Addy Winston.

His brother Riyaz works in Qatar and had called Muzammil there. For over a year, Muzammil worked as a truck driver in Qatar. He came to India in October to visit his family.

“He had studied BCom at a college in south Mumbai and stayed at our cousin’s place in the city all that while,” said Gafoor, his brother.

A senior ATS officer said, “The matter is currently being investigated by the Thane ATS unit. We are trying to locate him and checking his contacts. He is very active on Facebook.”

“We saw no changes in him. He used to be on the phone and surf online but we never saw what he did. He used to be very silent and care for family members. We hope he does not get involved in bad company,” added Gafoor.

For a 3.40 pm flight to Qatar, Muzammil and Gafoor had left from Khed a day before. “When I dropped him at the airport, he said goodbye and went inside. He gave me all the Indian currency he had and just kept the Qatar currency with him. I waited at the airport for half an hour and left. He had told me not to call that night as he would be tired. He said he would call the next morning,” he added.

The next day, Riyaz called his family in Khed and said Muzammil never reached Qatar. “Riyaz told us that Muzammil never reached Qatar. We checked with the airline and found that Muzammil did not board the flight. We were shocked and afraid. I, along with another brother, reached Mumbai,” added a worried Gafoor.

His cousin, Anas Parker, said, “We went to Sahar police station and filed a missing complaint on December 28. A few days later, we saw CCTV footage from the airport and were shocked to see out that an hour after Gafoor had dropped him there, Muzammil took a cab from outside the airport and left. We have no idea where he might have gone.”

After that, they found Muzammil was still active on Facebook. Gafoor said, “We sent several messages to him but he did not reply. He is online often, but does not reply. He has even changed his profile name to Addy Winston and keeps posting pictures.”
