The principal L Reddy, who allegedly called a student to his cabin and forced her to kiss him, will stay in police custody till July 7, as will be a teacher of the institution, Dattakumar Patil, who allegedly showed photos of scantily clad women to the same child (‘School principal forced deaf and mute students to kiss him’, July 3).

The police yesterday confirmed that two more students had approached them and recorded statements. “The principal has been claiming that he used to kiss the girls as he liked small kids. But we are trying to ascertain where he kissed them. If he kissed them on forehead, it’s not a problem,” said a police officer.

The two new complainants are also students of the school, and, like the first complainant, suffer from hearing problems. “We are recording statements of the students with the help of a mediator,” said Madhukar Pandey, additional commissioner of police, central region.
