Around 10 pm the same day, Special Squad officers arrested one Abdul Deewan from Kurla for allegedly illegally mixing oil and kerosene for sale in the black market. Deewan was handed over to the Kurla police.

Then, around 1 am on Sunday, officers from the squad conducted a raid at RA Kidwai Marg and arrested two drivers and a cleaner of an oil company for robbing oil from tankers and transporting it for sale in the black market. Oil worth Rs 20 lakh was recovered in the raid. Sharma said the trio had modified the company's tanker to fool the authorities about the amount of oil that could be contained in the vehicle. A cavity was made in the tanker to store the excess oil, which was later sold cheaply in the black market.
