A motorist in Thane found himself in legal trouble. The Thane man was booked for allegedly assaulting a traffic police officer who requested him to move his car, which was obstructing road traffic. The incident took place on January 11, the PTI report added.
The accused, Srinivas Naidu, was approached by the victim, a 43-year-old Assistant Police Inspector, who was on duty policing traffic near a school. The traffic officer asked Naidu to move his car because it was parked improperly, which was interfering with traffic flow.

However, Naidu became angry and began verbally abusing the traffic policeman. The situation quickly spiralled out of control, and Naidu assaulted the officer physically by pushing him down, grabbing his collar, and punching him, the report added.
After the attack, Srinivas Naidu was charged under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) and 504 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused has not yet been taken into custody by the officials.
Palghar officials have exposed a diesel theft scheme in a significant investigation that led to the filing of a charge against nine individuals. According to a PTI report, after the operation, equipment used for pilfering, an oil tanker worth Rs 21 lakh, petroleum commodities valued at Rs 16.95 lakh, and a tempo valued at Rs 6 lakh were all confiscated, totalling Rs 45.13 lakh.
The report states that the problem was found on January 11 following a raid at around five in the morning by a supply department flying squad. A planned attempt to steal diesel from oil tankers parked outside a hotel in Palghar's Chilhar Phata was discovered during the operation. Diesel was being transported illegally from the tankers into drums loaded on tempos for future sale.
Authorities reported the incident to the police after they discovered that the tanker's seal had been tampered with. The case was registered at the Manor police station using sections 285 (negligent conduct concerning fire or combustible substance) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The PTI report also stated that charges were filed under several orders and acts.
