Thane crime news: The half-burnt body of an unidentified man was reportedly found near the railway tracks at Kalyan in Thane district of Maharashtra, the police said on Saturday, reported the PTI.

The body was recovered from near Patri Pool in the town and it was later sent to a government hospital for post-mortem, an official of Tilak Nagar police station said, as per the PTI.
"The Railway Police's patrolling team found the partially-burnt body of an unidentified man, who appears to be around 40 years of age, in the bushes close to the railway tracks," he said.
The police suspect that the victim was killed by someone, who then tried to destroy the evidence by setting the body on fire, he added.
The police stations around Dombivli have been asked to go through the missing persons' reports filed with them so that the deceased can be identified, the official said.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, an unidentified man allegedly attacked a 34-year-old doctor at his clinic in Thane over a dispute.
According to the police official, the man also damaged the doctor's car.
"The man walked into the doctor's clinic at Kausa in Mumbra area on November 13 evening when he was examining a patient," the police stated.
Quoting the doctor's complaint, the police official from Mumbra police station said, "The attacker carried a box in his hand, and he said that he had brought sweets for the doctor. The accused then said he had given talaq to his wife and claimed the doctor had an affair with her."
"The man allegedly hit the doctor on his back, then ran out of the clinic and also attacked the doctor's car," the complaint stated.
A case was registered on Wednesday against the unidentified culprit under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and under the Maharashtra Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property).
"A probe was on into the case," the police said.
