Palghar Police thwarted a planned robbery attempt at a petrol pump along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. Personnel from the Virar police station stated on Monday that six people, including a lady, had been taken into custody in relation to the case.

Based on previous information, the crime branch found a jeep parked close to the Jivdani helipad in the Virar district on Friday night. A group of people in the area were discovered talking about their evil plans, which led the cops to overhear them, stated a report in the PTI.

According to the PTI report, senior officials were promptly notified by the authorities about the planned robbery at a neighbouring petrol pump. According to an official statement, two security officers were hurt when the police tried to arrest the suspects because they were attacked by the accused.

As stated in the FIR, all six of the accused—who range in age from 20 to 48—were taken into prison despite just minor wounds received during the arrests. The official said that one suspect—who was originally from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district—was able to escape the scene, the report added.

Palghar police confiscated a chopper, numerous huge knives, and other instruments often associated with such illegal activity during the arrests. According to the official, the suspects' jeep was also impounded.

The defendants have been charged under the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act. According to the police, three of those arrested were from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, two from Ahmednagar, and one from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, the PTI report stated.

Meanwhile, in another incident, police booked a Navi Mumbai man for allegedly barging inside the house of a 19-year-old girl and professing his love for her. The girl is a resident of Uran in Navi Mumbai. After professing his love, he also threatened her father in the incident dated January 4.

The accused was identified as 21-year-old Prathamesh Mhatre, an official from Uran police station told PTI.

The news agency quoted the official saying, "He told the girl's family he was in love with her and threatened to harm the father if anyone opposed their relationship."
