The Nigerian identified as Nomeso Uche Honnah alias Suso was infamous for peddling drugs in Goa, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, according to cops, and was wanted in several cases registered against him. Acting on a tip-off, officers laid a trap near Koregaon Park and nabbed him. Police have also arrested his accomplice Ajit Singh alias Bob (29), a resident of Dhanori who had teamed up with Suso to sell the illegal contraband in the city.

“We received a tip-off that Suso was in the city since the last four to five days, and along with Bob was planning to sell cocaine and LSD to some buyers. As per the information received, we laid a trap and arrested the duo near Winter Berry Apartments in KP on Monday afternoon,” said Suhas Nadgauda, police officer with the Anti-Terrorist cell.

He said that Suso was wanted in several other drug peddling cases in Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa, and Pune, and was hard to get hold off, as he was constantly on the move after selling narcotics. “Suso hails from Nigeria. However, since many years he has been living in India illegally and does not have a valid passport either,” said Nadgauda.

“As per the information, Suso is the key man, who supplied high-end contraband in the city with Bob, who is familiar with regular customers in the city,” said Nadgauda.u00a0Both drug peddlers have been arrested under relevant sections of NDPS Act.

Two others arrested
In another unrelated incident, two foreign nationals, Rahim Udoni (45) and Umarhoja Francis (27) from Nigeria and Kenya respectively, were arrested for residing in India without a valid passport. A team of Anti-Terrorist Cell officers made the arrests while they were patrolling the Koregaon Park area. u00a0
