Per the PTI report, the 26-year-old woman had joined the hotel in the Turbhe area as a pastry supervisor four months prior. Reportedly, the accused, who worked as a junior chef at the hotel, tried to get close to her.
He claimed that he was having a dispute with his wife to get close to her and allegedly touched her inappropriately, the official told PTI on Tuesday quoting her complaint.
She then approached a local unit of a political party and later filed a police complaint, the PTI report added.
According to the report, the police, based on her complaint, filed a case against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
A probe was reportedly conducted in the case.
In another incident from Navi Mumbai, a 14-year-old boy allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old teenager with a pair of scissors during a dispute over playing cricket. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on Tuesday in the Yadav Nagar area of Airoli.
According to officials from Rabale MIDC police station, an argument erupted between the boys while playing cricket, escalating to the point where the accused used scissors to stab the victim in the neck in a fit of rage, a PTI report stated.
"The boys were playing cricket when an argument broke out between them. It escalated to such a level that the accused pulled out a pair of scissors and stabbed the victim in his neck in a fit of rage," an official of Rabale MIDC police station told PTI.
The injured teenager was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment, and he is currently undergoing medical care. A case has been registered against the 14-year-old accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation.
