Later, the victim received WhatsApp calls between March 6 and 8, where the woman showed him his nude clips and allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 by threatening to make the videos public. However, he did not fall prey and immediately approached the Tulinj police.
Cops found that the woman also shared some of the videos with the man's friends. They suspect that the victim may have shared numbers of his friends, who might have shown interest in chatting with the unknown woman. To create awareness about such fraudsters, the police urged people not to engage in chats and video calls with unknown persons.
The identity of the woman is not known as yet as the victim had not shot her photographs during their video interactions, an officer said. The number from where the calls were made has also been switched off since then.
