A 65-year-old chartered accountant, who has been accused of sexually assaulting his female colleagues, is yet to be arrested, despite a Dindoshi court rejecting his bail plea in one of the cases of molestation. The accused, identified as Suresh Saharia, worked as a consultant at a private firm based in Andheri West, and has three FIRs registered against him at different police stations.

A fresh FIR has been registered at DN Nagar police station by a 44-year-old woman, who has alleged that Saharia raped her in his car on April 12, and snatched her gold chain, which he said he would return, only if she spent more time with him. “I was returning from a morning walk in Andheri West on April 12, when a Mercedes stopped next to me. He offered to drop me. After I sat inside the car, he gave me a cold drink. As soon as I sipped it, I fell unconscious,” the woman told mid-day. The DN Nagar police station registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC.

Earlier in March, a 47-year-old Ghatkopar resident registered a molestation case against Saharia at the Amboli police station. In her FIR, the woman claimed that he touched her inappropriately inside the office. “In February, a female and male colleague had gone to his home in Oshiwara to question him, but Saharia started using abusive language. His son also pushed the staff.”

Following that incident, the female colleague had registered an FIR at the Oshiwara police station on February 12. After the case was registered at Oshiwara, Saharia approached the Dindoshi sessions court to seek anticipatory bail for him and his son. But the court has rejected their plea.  Abhishek Trimukhe, zonal DCP said, “We are checking the veracity of allegations made against the accused.”
