The Pydhonie police have arrested an alleged accused who had been absconding for 25 years, as it is alleged that he was involved in the killing of Munna Dadi, a member of the Chota Rajan gang.
According to the police, on April 24, 1997, the alleged accused Layeek Ahmad Fida Hussain Sheikh, who is also a member of the Chota Shakeel gang, was involved in the killing of Munna Dadi, a member of the Chota Rajan Gang. It is alleged that Shaikh, along with two others, had killed Munna Dadi.

The court had granted him bail in this matter; however, he was ordered to be present in the court and cooperate with the investigation. Despite the order, Shaikh was not present during the court hearings. The police went to his residence located in Dongri, Mumbai, but it was revealed that he had changed his address since 2004.
The police faced a lot of difficulties in locating Shaikh. They received a tip-off that he resides in Mumbra. However, the people in the vicinity were unaware of the alleged accused as he was living alone.
Senior PI Shrikant Rajarampatil, who is stationed at Pydhonie police station, while speaking to Mid-Day, said, “With the help of technology and human intelligence, we traced the accused to be at Thane railway station. We immediately apprehended Shaikh. It was a difficult task to locate him as we did not have his recent photograph.”
Shaikh belonged to the Chota Shakeel gang, and Chota Shakeel is believed to be a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim.
Layeek Ahmad Fida Hussain Sheikh is now aged 50, and he has been apprehended after 25 years. He has been booked under Sections 302 (Punishment for Murder) and 34 (Common Intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
