The NM Joshi police have arrested a 38-year-old man from Haryana for making threat calls to Israel Consulate in Mumbai. According to the police, the accused had also called more than 100 times to the Mumbai Police control room in the last 15 days.

According to the police, the accused threatened the Israel Consulate officials as his visa application was rejected. Also, the Mumbai police control room has put his number on the blocklist after receiving over 100 calls.
The accused studied abroad and was working in Paris but had to come back after losing his job due to Covid-19 in 2020. He was living in his SUV for the last three months in Khar.
"He was spending his days in his car and was applying for Visa in different consulates. After his application was rejected by Israel Consulate he called and threatened them," said a police officer.
On Monday evening around 4.45 pm, the Israel Consulate official received a call. The caller threatened to kill the staff and show them some "real game". Officials reached out to the NM Joshi police station on Tuesday morning and registered a complaint against an unknown person.
The police lodged an FIR against unidentified person under IPC action 506(2) (threatening to cause death or grievous injury).
DCP (Zone 3) Paramjit Singh Dahiya instructed Senior Inspector Rajesh Kewale to look into the matter. A team lead by sub-inspectors Kiran Patil and Nikhil Shelke tracked down the caller. "As soon as the complaint was registered we started the investigation, we traced the caller to Khar. He was inside his car with all his belongings," said a police officer from NM Joshi police station.
When police asked the person to come out for questioning, he refused. Doors of his car were unlocked and he was nabbed by the police team. "The accused was arrested and produced before the Bhoiwada court. He was sent in judicial custody and later on released on a bail of Rs 15,000 personal bond," said Kewale.
The 38-year-old accused's father is a retired Colonel from the Indian Army whereas his mother is a businesswoman. He had completed his studies in Australia and was working in a Paris-based private firm. After spending a year and a half in Haryana he drove his SUV in Mumbai.
"He used to eat in restaurants do his chores in hotels and again get inside his SUV," said another police officer. "According to his family, he is mentally disturbed since his return from abroad. His mother used to send Rs 8,000 every day for expenses," the officer added.
