She said, “Tayyab was a student and studying in 11th standard in a Navi Mumbai based college. On January 4, he left home at around 7.30 pm and did not return back. I later went to sleep after waiting for him at night. The next day when he still did not return home I got worried. While we were waiting for his call, my other grandson got a call from the police and only then did we learn what happened to him.”

Sources said, at around 2 pm, the police called Aslam, Tayyab's brother and called him to the police station where he was shown a picture of the dead body. When Aslam suspected it to be of his brother, he was taken to Rajawadi Hospital where he confirmed the dead body to be Tayyab.

He had major injuries on his head and shoulder. The injuries are due to sharp weapons, the cops suspect, sources added.
The police said, after the identification of the body, the police activated its informers network, who shared information that Tayyab had fought with some of the local boys previously and was seen fighting with them on the night of January 4.

Based on this information, the police officials immediately identified some of the boys and detained them for questioning who confessed to the killing.
