The Mumbai Crime Branch has filed an application before the Killa court for issuing a non-bailable warrant against former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh who has been untraceable.

The crime branch investigating an extortion case against Singh, has dismissed API Sachin Waze and others. The Crime branch is also looking to trace gangster Chhota Shakeel’s aide Riyaz Bhatti linked to Singh.

The application to issue a non-bailable warrant has been given to the court after Singh didn’t respond to the multiple summons issued to him at his all locations including Chandigarh.

“He is not available at all his addresses nor has he responded to the summons sent to him via email. As part of procedure we have moved to court to issue non bailable warrant against him,” An officer of Mumbai Crime Branch said. The court has posted the matter for hearing on October 29.

If he does not appear, the crime branch will also start a process of declaring him absconder. The unit 11 of the Mumbai crime branch is investigating the extortion case against Singh after a complaint by a hotelier.
