The Bandra unit of Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a lawyer named Rajkumar Rajhans in a drugs case. The ANC has also seized drug-related material worth Rs 2.35 crore from a farmhouse in the Kolhapur district. The accused was absconding and the investigating agency arrested him from the Malad area of Mumbai.

According to the ANC, lawyer Rajhans himself used to get MD drugs made and then supplied them to drug peddlers in Mumbai. The accused had built his image as a social worker in his area so that no one can doubt him. Sources also told that Rajhans used to supply 8-10 kg of MD drugs to Mumbai per month.

An ANC official said the chemical and other equipment used in the manufacture of the banned drug is worth around Rs 2.35 crore. The farmhouse from which all this has been confiscated belongs to Rajkumar Rajhans, who practices law in Mumbai and has his own law company. He said that the lawyer is the kingpin of this illegal business.

ANC DCP Datta Nalawade told mid-day, “We have arrested lawyer Rajkumar Rajhans from Malad and produced him in court where the court has sent Rajhans to police custody till November 22.”

Earlier, ANC's Bandra unit arrested drug peddler Christiana alias Ayesha from Sakinaka on November 13 with MD drugs worth Rs 5 lakh. During the interrogation of Christiana, it was found that she had bought the drug from a person and that person brought these drugs from Kolhapur.

Christiana also shared information that there is a Mephedrone manufacturing unit in a farmhouse located in Kolhapur. Based on this information, ANC teams of Mumbai and Kolhapur police conducted raids on November 15. During the raid, the ANC team busted the Mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit.
