Constable Narayan Ingle has been suspended for giving the keys to the flat where a raunchy party was organised last week without permission. mid-day’s photographer had captured a group of men dancing with a transgender person at what was claimed to be party for another constable’s five-year-old son.

The suspension notice came on Wednesday morning, said officers. According to the notice, Ingle was posted as the line orderly at Wadala Truck Terminal police station. “The maintenance of the vacant government residence as well as the keys are in your possession as you are line orderly,” the order stated.

Police constable Praveen Sarvade had organised the party on Friday night for his son’s birthday, at the police quarters in Pratiksha Nagar, Sion. Ingle gave Sarvade the keys to flat number 702 in C wing of his own will, the notice stated. It added that he also failed to immediately inform his seniors about the party.

“Ingle’s behaviour has tarnished the image of the police force in the eyes of the general public. His act as a police constable is indecent and serious,” read the notice.

“Using the powers conferred under 12/01/2011 and as per the provisions of Rule 3 of the Mumbai Police (Punishment and Appeals) Rules, 1956, he has been suspended from service from the date of acceptance of the said order.”

An officer told mid-day, “Constable Ingle had given the keys of the government residence to Sarvade without permission. A departmental inquiry is underway.”

Sarvade lives in room number 202, and his friend had called the transgender person to bless the child. However, people partying at 702 were caught dancing obscenely with the transgender person.
