Police have detained three juveniles and claimed to have solved seven cases of motorcycle thefts in Palghar district, reported news agency PTI.

Senior police inspector Anil Vibhute said following a number of complaints of motorcycle thefts in Palghar, a team of the local crime branch was formed to conduct a probe into the cases, reported PTI.
The team on January 24 apprehended three persons, all aged 17, allegedly involved in a recent motorcycle theft in the area.
During interrogation, the three persons told the police about their involvement in other such incidents in Dahanu area in May and August 2023, the official said, reported PTI.
Further investigation revealed their involvement in motorcycle thefts under Saphala police station limits also, he said, reported PTI.
With this, the police have solved seven cases of motorcycle thefts and one case of stealing of a mobile phone, the official said, reported PTI.
The stolen items have been recovered, the police said, reported PTI.
In another case, a 23-year-old man from Maharashtra's Palghar district has been arrested for stabbing his former girlfriend, an official said on Thursday, reported PTI.
The woman is being treated for the injuries sustained in the attack, reported PTI.
Accused Vikas Varma targeted the 22-year-old woman from Nalasopara on Tuesday, nearly two years after she broke up with him due to frequent quarrels and stopped responding to his messages, reported PTI.
The official said Varma, however, continued to pursue the woman. She had even filed a police complaint against him on October 21 last year, he said, reported PTI.
Varma stabbed the woman in the chest and abdomen with a knife around 7.45 am on Tuesday when she was on her way to work. Locals overpowered Varma and handed him over to the police, reported PTI.
The Achole police have registered a case against Varma under Indian Penal Code section 307 (attempt to murder), the official said, reported PTI.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against a man for allegedly beating up a 31-year-old railway pointsman after a rail crossing gate was closed when he arrived there in Maharashtra's Palghar district, an official said on Thursday, reported PTI.
The incident took place on Tuesday when the victim was on duty at the railway crossing in Boisar area, reported PTI.
He was closing the gate for an approaching train when the 45-year-old accused arrived there on a two-wheeler and got agitated at the gate being closed, the official from Government Railway Police (GRP) in Palghar said quoting the victim's complaint, reported PTI.
