Six people were killed and three others were injured in a tragic accident that took place on Tuesday morning at around 6:30 am in Thane district of Maharashtra.

A shared taxi with students and office workers on board was traveling from Padgha to Khadavali railway station, officials said.
When the taxi reached the Padgha-Khadavali cross section, it collided head-on with a speeding container truck. The force of the collision caused the container to drag the taxi for a distance. Nearby witnesses rushed to help the injured and transported them to the hospital, the officials said.
The accident resulted in the loss of six lives: Chinmayi Vikas Shinde (15), Chaitali Sushant Pimple (27), Santosh Anant Jadhav (50), Vasant Dharma Jadhav (50), Riya Kishor Pradeshi, and Prajjwal Shankar Firke. Three other individuals named Dilip Kumar Vishwakarma (19), Chetna Ganesh Jase (19), and Kunal Dnyaneshwar Bhamre (22) were injured and taken to Mayra Hospital in Bhiwandi for medical treatment. The police are in the process of filing a First Information Report (FIR) against the container truck, an official said.
