A young woman foiled an abduction bid by two men in south Delhi, police said on Sunday adding that one of the assaulters had been arrested. The woman showed great presence of mind as she escaped from the car that they were dragging her towards.
Police said Rohit Choudhary, 22, along with his accomplice had dragged Seema, 22, into their car in Ghitroni in south Delhi around 7.30 p.m. on Saturday. However, she escaped through an open car window, a senior police official said.
Rohit has since been arrested on charges of molestation and kidnapping and the car with a Haryana number plate seized.
"The young woman lives in Rangpuri Pahadi area in Vasant Kunj and works in a beauty parlour. As she left her workplace, Rohit confronted her and molested her. He tried to kidnap her in his car. But she raised an alarm and jumped out of the car even as the two accused fled the spot," the officer added.
