Cyber Crime Police arrested Mohammed Javed and Jiyauddin Saifi on July 2 after tracing them in New Delhi and brought them to Hyderabad on transit warrant, a release from Hyderabad Police said.
Police seized net cash of Rs 1.65 lakh, one laptop and mobile phones from their possession.
According to the release, the two accused allegedly cheated several persons in many parts of the country through means of fake insurance policy revivals and indulging in cyber frauds.
The woman had lodged a complaint on June 16 with Cyber Crime Police and stated that in June last year she received phone calls informing her that she has won prize money of Rs 53 lakh and insisted her to claim the prize money after paying amounts towards processing fees, taxes and other charges.
"Believing the other party's version, she has deposited total amount of Rs 32,99,110 in different bank accounts provided by them. After the amount was deposited, they did not respond to her calls. She realised that she was cheated and subsequently lodged the complaint," the release said.
