New Delhi: Delhi Police today detained three persons in connection with the shooting incident near Qutub Minar in South Delhi in which a 24-year-old youth was killed.

Police said that as per initial investigation it seems to be a case of personal enmity but added that they were investigating the case from all angles.

Sonu Sejwal (24), who worked at a five-star hotel in central Delhi, was yesterday gunned down when he was sipping tea at a kiosk in Mehrauli with his friend Sandeep, who suffered bullet injuries. Sandeep, who is a property dealer, is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to police sources, the cops have zeroed-in on the suspects after scrutinising CCTV footages of the area and are questioning witnesses.

Preliminary investigations suggest that suspects wanted to settle scores with Sonu and called him to a tea kiosk near Qutub Minar on the pretext of sorting out the matter, police said, adding that they are scanning phone details of the victim and suspects to ascertain a link between them.

"We are yet to make any arrest. Police teams have questioned at least a dozen persons and have detained three persons. We will soon crack this case," a senior police officer said.

Several teams, including the special staff and special task force, have been formed to crack the case, he added.

Around six to eight men had yesterday arrived at the spot in two cars and opened fire in which Sonu and his friend Sandeep sustained bullet injuries. All accused fled the spot.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act has been registered against unidentifed persons at Mehrauli police station.
