The Jharkhand-mob lynching is still fresh in our minds and another case of a cab driver being thrashed and forced to say Jai Shri Ram has come to light.

The incident took place on Sunday when the Ola cab driver Faisal Usman Kahan, 25, was travelling with passengers when his car broke down. Kahan is a resident of Mumbra.

Kahan had picked up passengers from Agusan road in Diva early morning when his car broke down. As the driver was trying to start the car, three youths came on a bike and asked him why had he stopped his car. They then thrashed him and as Faisal appealed to them to let him go, they allegedly forced him to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'.

Police inspector Madhukar Kad said that the accused were inebriated when they committed the crime and all are residents of Diva.

Many incidents have been reported over the last few weeks where Muslims were forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence on Jharkhand lynching and said that it has pained him and the guilty must be severely punished.
