Hyderabad: A post-graduate student of English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) was raped by two people including a fellow student on the university campus, police said Sunday. Both accused have been arrested.


Police arrested the accused after the 23-year-old girl lodged a complaint that she was raped in boy's hostel on the night of Oct 31.


In her complaint lodged with Osmania University police station, the victim alleged that she was intoxicated and raped by the accused in hostel room of one of them.


Student gang-raped in Hyderabad

Police identified the accused as Nitin Solasamudram and Raj Simha.

While 21-year-old Nitin is a post-graduate student of journalism, Raj Simha (24) is a former student of the university. Both the accused hail from neighboring Andhra Pradesh.

The victim, who was sent for medical examination, told police that the accused intoxicated and violated her during a party. Police said she did not approach them immediately after the incident as she was traumatized. However, supported by her fellow students, she lodged a complaint Sunday.
