Accused in RTI activist Satish Shetty murder case arrested after cops learn what actually happened on night of October 1
Officials of the Dehu Road police station claim to have cracked the October 1 firing incident near Alkapuri housing society, in which Harshada Shinde (29) sustained a bullet injury. The claim came after police arrested her husband Santosh Shinde and Amin Shaikh, who has criminal antecedents.

According to the police, Shinde confessed that he had bought a revolver from Shaikh and accidentally fired it while checking it at home on the night of October 1. The bullet struck his wife in the bicep of her right arm and a story was fabricated for fear of police action.
“Shinde, who is also an accused in the Satish Shetty murder case, cooked up the story claiming that his wife was shot at by two unidentified assailants outside the housing society.
A complaint has been registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder),” said Police Inspector Ram Jadhav of Dehu Road police station. “During the investigation, we received a tip-off that Shinde had recently bought a revolver from one Amin Shaikh, who is criminal on record. We changed the track of our investigation and started grilling Shinde and Shaikh. During sustained questioning, they both spilled the beans and revealed what actually happened.”u00a0
