Sharad Mohol associate nabbed in Yerawada jail

Officials of the Yerawada police station arrested au00a024-year-old man for faking his identity while meeting Alok Shivaji Bhalerao on Saturday evening in the Yerawada Central Jail. Ashok is accused of murdering Indian Mujahideen operative Qateel Siddique.

Mayur Sunil Shinde

The accused was identified as Mayur Sunil Shinde, a resident of Ambedkar society in Yerawada. Shinde entered the visiting room as Swapnil Bhalerao by producing a forged driving licence and a voting card.

Poonam Pawar, from the jail administration, lodged a case against Shinde in this regard. Sub-inspector R B Lokhande of the Yerawada police station produced Shinde in the local court yesterday, which remanded him in judicial custody.

Shinde said, “Alok and his relative Akshay Bhalerao are close associates of gangster Sharad Mohol. Alok is a prime accused in the Qateel Siddique murder case, along with Mohol.

We want to ascertain the exact reason behind Shinde’s attempt to visit Alok and Askhay using a fake identity. Shinde has two cases of assault registered against him at the Yerawada police station in 2012 and 2013 respectively.”u00a0
