The Pune police have booked two conmen on charges of duping a doctor from Uttar Pradesh of R30 lakh by promising to secure admission for his son at Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Medical College in Pune.

The accused have been identified as Kumar Prabhanjan and Pravin Kumar, residents of B T Kavde Road in Ghorpadi. Since both the suspects hail from Delhi, police teams have been sent to the national capital to nab them.
Dr Kailashchandra Vidy-aprakash Sood (64), a resident of Noida in Uttar Pradesh, had filed a complaint against the duo at the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station on Tuesday.
Inspector (Crime Branch) B G Kutwal said, “Sood is a doctor and had paid the duo to secure admission for one of his sons in the past as well. This was the second time that he contacted them for admissions. They took cash from Sood between August and November 2012, but later refused to do his work.”
He added that there are a few gangs operating in the city with connections in the northern states as well.
“These gangs secure admissions for a few people and start building their nexus. The suspects in this case are from Delhi and we have their location. They’ll be arrested soon,” Kutwal said.
