Pune Crime: 13 booked for youth's murder after peace meeting

One group had started pelting stones, the murder was done in retaliation

Hadapsar police have booked 13 youth on charges of murdering one Mohsin Shaikh (29) late on Monday night in the Sasanenagar area.

According to police, a peace committee meeting was organised at the Hadapsar police station on Monday evening.

After this meeting got over, people from the two groups started returning to their homes. Some members of one of the groups pelted stones in a nearby area, leading to wild rumours about riots being spread in the locality.

The other group retaliated by attacking Shaikh, who was returning home.

A curfew was in force in the Hadapsar area till Tuesday morning.
