Three persons have been arrested on charges of depositing fake currency notes in an automatic teller machine of a private bank here, police said today

Three persons have been arrested on charges of depositing fake currency notes in an automatic teller machine of a private bank here, police said today. Fake notes with a total face value of Rs 18.60 lakh, plain papers used for printing the notes and printing equipment were seized from their possession.

Police said one of them, Jagangir, had allegedly deposited fake notes in the denomination of Rs 2000 with a face value of Rs 42,000 in the ATM. They said the Bank manager told them that the machine had rejected the notes, adding, Jagangir, Abbaz and Kathiresan, were arrested after CCTV footage at the ATM kiosk was accessed.
