In a shocking case, a 40-year-old man has been arrested in an alleged case of voyeurism. As per reports the police are still looking for the man’s wife, who is responsible for making the video public. The man shot a sex video of himself and the woman he was having an affair with and his wife circulated the video to people the woman knew in order to defame her. As per a police officer the man’s wife has been booked for leaking and circulating the sex video.
As per reports by the Hindustan Times, the man was having an extramarital affair with a 40-year-old woman. The accused, his wife and the woman knew each other for the past five years, but the accused and the woman entered into a relationship last year. They are all residents of Bandra (West). The accused clandestinely shot videos of himself and the woman being intimate on his mobile phone. The videos were subsequently hidden on his phone itself. However, his wife suspected him of having an affair and checked his phone earlier this month. When she found the sex tape she allegedly circulated the video on Whatsapp to a number of the woman’s acquaintances, including her brother-in-law in order to defame her. Last week, the woman’s brother-in-law showed the woman the video that was being circulated.
On finding out that it was her lover’s wife who had circulated the clip, she approached the Bnadra police and filed an FIR. A case has been registered under section 354 C (voyeurism) of the Indian Penal Code and 67 A (punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act) of the Information Technology Act. The man was arrested soon after the complaint was filed and was remanded to police custody till January 30. An official from the Bandra Police station said, “We have seized his mobile phone. We will send it to the forensic lab.”
