New Delhi: In a road rage incident, a management graduate and his friend were attacked with a baton by two persons following an argument over giving way to their car in Amar Colony of south Delhi.

The victims, Mandeep Kalita and Arshad Akeel, were returning home from a local gymnasium in Maruti Swift car when a grey coloured Maruti Swift Dzire came from opposite side.

"Since it was a narrow road, Kalita asked the driver of the Dzire to give way to his car. The Dzire car driver, however, insisted that Kalita should reverse his vehicle and give way to their vehicle following which an argument sparked off between the two.

"The driver of the Dzire abused Kalita and came out with and the other accused and began beating up Kalita. When Akeel rushed to help his friend, the duo thrashed him too.

They were also attacked with a baton that was kept in the car by the attackers," said a senior official.

According to police, Kalita was hit on the left side of his head. The accused fled when some locals rushed to help the victims.

The injured were taken to AIIMS Trauma Center from where they were discharged later.
