Man held for killing wife on suspicion of infidelity

A 30-year-old man allegedly killed his wife at their residence in Gorhe Budruk on Sinhgad Road in the wee hours yesterday after suspecting she was having an extra-marital affair.

Officials of the Haveli police station arrested the man, identified as Vinod Bhandari. The deceased was identified as Talashi Bhadari (25).


Restaurant waiter
The police said that the suspect worked as a waiter in a small restaurant and hailed from Nepal. “Vinod was doubting his wife’s character and used to harass her often and on Monday night, the couple had a dispute over the same issue and following the quarrel, Vinod stabbed her with a sharp weapon and murdered her,” PSI Bajrang Kapse of the Haveli police station said.


Commotion
Some residents of the area heard the commotion and rushed to the Bhandari residence, and alerted the police when they saw Talashi lying in a pool of blood. u00a0
