Inspector Badri Dutt, 45, and Geeta Sharma, 45, were found dead in an apartment in RD City under Sushant Lok police station. “Badri Dutt committed suicide after killing Geeta,” said Gurgaon's Additional Commissioner of Police Maheshwar Dayal.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be established, according to the police. Twice awarded for gallantry, Dutt was instrumental in cracking several terrorist modules, said a senior Delhi Police officer.
“Dutt specialised in cracking terrorist modules. He had neutralised several terrorists belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad,” said the official.
Dutt joined Delhi Police as a sub-inspector in 1991. He spent most of his career in Delhi Police’s Special Staff and Special Cell, where he was posted since 1999. An efficient officer, he got an out-of-turn promotion to inspector. He was living apart from his wife and two children, who stay in Faridabad, due to a family dispute.u00a0
