Chandigarh: A court in Panchkula today handed the death sentence to the father and uncle of a teenaged girl for her murder in October last year.

The court of District and Sessions Judge RK Sondhi awarded the death sentence to the 15-year-old girl's father Shaukeen and uncle Salim, prosecution said. The court ruled that duo had killed the girl over an affair she was said to be having with the fiance of her elder sister.
The court had convicted the duo last week. The girl's body was found near an orchard in a Panchkula village on the night of October 23, 2013. She was a native of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.
