The mother of an eight-year-old girl has lodged a complaint at Vadgaon Maval police station, claiming her daughter was raped by an unidentified person near Kamshet on Friday night
The man allegedly lured her with biscuits, took her to an isolated place near her residence and violated her. A search is on for the accused.

The girl is a resident of the slums near Pawana road, where workers stay in shanties. “The victim was standing near her dwelling, when she was approached by the accused on Friday night. The person lured her, took her forcibly to a field near her home and reportedly raped her,” said Sopan More, inspector of Maval police station.
Her mother lodged a complaint with the police about the incident on Saturday morning after the victim narrated the episode. “We are in search of the offender and expect to find him soon. The girl was taken to Sassoon hospital for medical check-up and is stable now. The reports are awaited, so we cannot confirm whether or not she was raped,” More added. u00a0
