Police has registered a case against 38 persons for obscenity and other violations following a raid at a bar in Bhiwandi town of Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a bar in the Anjur Phata area on Thursday night, the official said.
Waitresses were present in the bar, though the establishment did not have a licence to employ women, he said, according to newswire PTI.
A case under section 294 (obscene acts and songs) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against 38 persons, including customers and employees of the bar.
Meanwhile, a man was assaulted by two persons while trying to shoo away a goat in Shil Daighar in Thane district, a police official said on Saturday.
Salim Shaikh sustained injuries in the eye, he said according to PTI.
"Shaikh was shooing away a goat when its owner Vinod Sharma and the latter's friend Salim confronted him. They beat Shaikh with sticks. He has been hospitalised," the official said.
They have been booked for assault and other offences but are yet to be arrested, the Shil Daighar police station official said.
In another incident, Police in Maharashtra’s Thane has solved the double murder of a senior citizen couple in early January and arrested of two persons.
Shamsher Bahadur Ranbaj Singh (68), a security guard, and his wife Meena Singh (65) were found murdered in their flat in Manpada area under Chitalsar police station limits on January 4, newswire PTI reported.
The bodies had strangulation marks and some valuables were missing from their flat.
"We have arrested security guard Nissar Ahmed Kutubdin Shaikh (27) and Rohit Suresh Uttekar (26), who is a ward boy in Kalwa civic hospital. After a probe of nearly a month, we got a lead about Shaikh. We found he used to frequently visit Uttekar's home," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarsingh Jadhav.
The two have confessed to killing the couple and robbing their mobile phone and gold jewellery, the DCP said.
Shaikh and Uttekar have been remanded in police custody till February 20. (Agencies)
