Celebrate Christmas under the stars, with a bonfire, live music performances and kayaking down the Ulhas

This Christmas, camps by the Ulhas river in Karjat

If sipping on drinks and dancing to Bollywood tunes is not your idea of festive fun, celebrate Christmas in a tranquil way by heading to the woods. This year, Moonstone Hammock has come up with an alternative to celebrate Christmas at their campsite by the Ulhas river in Karjat. It's your chance to reconnect with nature this festive season.

The weekend's experience includes sunrise and sunset kayaking in the river with trained personnel. A series of team-building games to challenge and bond with fellow campers are also part of the itinerary. You can listen to live acoustic music ranging from classic Bollywood songs to pop music by different bands performing at night. Along with staying in tents, you will enjoy a barbecue by the bonfire, followed by dinner. The campsite even has a mini library to bury your head in a novel.

"Christmas camping is one of our most-loved events. Keeping up with the merriment, we have some fun activities planned," says Abhishek Dabholkar, the organisation's creative head, adding that Christmas tree decoration at the campsite is on the cards, too.
