Karuna Dolls was conceived during the pandemic for the benefit of women spinners, weavers and embroiderers from across the country. The dolls are inspired by the heritage of various Indian states and use crafting techniques traditionally employed by the local communities — for instance, the Babuni and Babua duo from Bihar are adorned with sujjni embroidery, while Bal Anjaneya from Karnataka has been fashioned using kaudi stitch. No bigger than six to eight inches, these dolls make for thoughtful décor and gifting options.
