A series of virtual lectures will bring the country’s famous ceiling paintings to the fore

Step into a Renaissance- or Baroque-era palace or church in Italy and you are likely to be left spellbounded by grand ceiling paintings that create an illusion of a three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional or flat surface. Starting this weekend, a series of lectures by Dr Reshma Nayyar, a specialist in Baroque art, will look at masterpieces and highlight cultural contexts.
