Few might be aware that Landlord’s Game created by Elizabeth Magie, and patented on January 5, 1904, is the precursor to Monopoly. Magie patented it to illustrate the teachings of economist Henry George. The patent was later bought by the Parker brothers, and her name was lost in obscurity. Disney Monopoly: Disney released this special edition where players can choose their favourite characters to negotiate the board. The game is based on Disney lore.

Monopoly Ultimate Banking: In this fast-paced version there are no notes and chips but an electronic banking unit which keeps track of players’ wealth. Players have credit cards with special barcodes for properties and spots, and an ATM machine too.

Game of Thrones Monopoly: This edition is based on the fantasy fiction novel and TV series, Game of Thrones (GoT). The board is set up in the GoT universe and the properties are all named after cities and towns that appear on the much-loved series.
