Soona Mahal, Marine Drive on Art Deco’s calendar

Deco dekho

With their rounded corners, sleek streamlined façades and ornate grills, Art Deco buildings are one of the prettiest elements in Mumbai’s skyline. As an ode to this architectural style, Art Deco Mumbai has curated a two-year calendar that features 24 Deco neighbourhoods and 24 Deco gems. Founder trustee Atul Kumar shares that the 2022 and 2023 calendar was designed to highlight the way the architectural style is prevalent across so many neighbourhoods. “From Girgaum to Colaba, and Chembur to Matunga, every month you get to savour a new neighbourhood and building. For each building, there’s a brief section on history and trivia.”
