A popular Berlin-based DJ is happy to mix things up for the Mumbai leg of his tour

This weekend, fans of popular DJ Paypal will get an opportunity to groove to his sound at a gig in a city nightclub, which is part of his South-Asia tour. The Berliner shares, “It’s been hectic, I started playing out again in October for the first time since the beginning of March 2020, but no stress, I’m wearing a mask at the club.”

The artiste has had a strong influence in the development of the culture and the sound of electronic music in the city, especially on aspiring DJs who have attempted to improve the genre in Mumbai. DJ Paypal had some words of encouragement about the talent pool in the city, and how people are impacted by its music. “Every year it just gets better in Mumbai,” he shares.
His popularity in India has not gone unnoticed, and he has been a regular feature in the country, performing at many shows in the past. “It was confusing and complicated the first time around. Now things are chilled; I love it here,” shares the artiste about his connection with the Indian audience. When asked where he’d rank the city when it comes to the stages on a global map, he said: “I would not rank it. I do not believe in hierarchies. It’s been a while since I last performed here, and I’m hyped to be back, especially with Oceantied and the crew.”
