A Specially curated walking tour through the city's oldest parts will give participants a glimpse into Mumbai's hidden gems this weekend. The guided walk will also involve passages from the works of celebrated authors such as Rudyard Kipling and Salman Rushdie, for their perspectives on the ups and downs that Mumbai has been through.

"What makes this walk especially exciting is that I'm able to keep adding to it and changing it around as I read more books set in and on Bombay," says Alisha Sadikot, founder of The Inheritage Project (TIP), an organisation working to promote public engagement with local art, museums and heritage spaces.
"I'm hoping book lovers take away some new reading ideas and recommendations, and learn to marry their interest in the city with the manner in which it has played muse to so many others," she adds.
Rishi Shah, co-founder of Mumbai Riders and a collaborator with TIP, explains that upon registering, participants will receive the exact list of attractions. The tour is expected to stop by the Gateway of India precinct, Regal Circle, and other Mumbai landmarks. But Sadikot discloses that this tour will have a new final location, as opposed to the one that ended a similar tour conducted last month.
Following the walk, all the participants are welcome to have breakfast at a heritage eatery.
"I often think that I'm cheating when I call this 'work', because it brings together two of my favourite things — Mumbai history and books!" Sadikot laughs.
