Set out on a sail
Is your child wondering what an island or a lighthouse looks like? Show it to them first-hand as you venture into the Arabian Sea on a sailboat (with a capacity of three to six people) organised by Heart and Soil. Starting from Gateway of India, the two-hour ride, also available in mornings and afternoons until May, is one of the best ways to catch the sunset and learn a thing or two about sailing from an expert on board.

Learn tie-and-dye
Keen to spend some quality time with your kid? Bond over a tie-and-dye workshop conducted by artist Ritika Jhunjhunwala of Iteeha. The parent-child activity is open to kids above seven years. The hands-on workshop involves folding, twisting, pleating or crumpling a T-shirt, provided by the organisers, and learning the art of applying eco-friendly dyes. The result: A T-shirt with a unique design that can hold the pride of place in your child's wardrobe. The artist will also show kids how to screen print garments.

At Hotel Marine Plaza, Marine Drive.

Feel the magic
Who said learning science is restricted to a school laboratory? Engage in various edutainment activities where kids can learn more about body mass and the law of gravity. For instance, kids can blow life-size bubbles and see them change shapes as part of an activity titled Bubblelology. If your kids are addicted to Harry Potter, get them to indulge in Magic Writing, where they get to write with quills. Get their friends together to play a giant-sized Snakes and Ladder and even Dominoes. The venue also features a photo booth and will host a science show post 4 pm.

At KORUM Mall, Mangal Pandey Road, near Cadbury Compound, Eastern Express Highway, Thane West.
