So let’s cut to the chase. Is the juice worth the squeeze? Without a doubt. When we spoke over the phone, D’Souza asked me what time would I prefer to have my food delivered. I requested for it to arrive between one and two in the afternoon. On the dot of one, Roger was at our door. Full points, right there. The low-down: prompt delivery, superb pricing, and incredibly delicious food.
Goan Sausage Fry is a must-pick from the menu
The Goan Sausage Pulav (Rs 200) had a generous garnishing of tangy, smoked sausages that infused the meaty flavour with the fragrant rice, rich in Indian spices and vinegar. If you love Goan sausages, this one is ‘the treat’ for you.
The Crab Xacuti delivered the ultimate Goan experience
Next, the Prawn Curry (Rs 220) that was bursting with flavour is highly recommended. There was a creamy quality to the gravy, that was all parts garlic and what I imagine, bay leaf masala. Scrumptious. This delicious Goan curry tastes great with the Plain Rice (Rs 60). The rice was devoid of salt, intentionally, I assume. In my personal opinion, rice usually tastes better with salt.
The Chicken Cafreal’s masala tasted a lot like the Portuguese Peri-Peri sauce
The Chicken Cafreal (Rs 230) is the equivalent of Portuguese-style grilled chicken, and the masalas it is marinated in tastes a lot like the famous Portuguese Peri-Peri sauce. Traditionally prepared, the Chicken Cafreal offered the quickest whole chicken legs that we’ve devoured. Soft and flavourful to the last bite.
The Crab Xacuti (Rs 245) is a big hit for crab lovers. The oil had been absorbed well, and this technique left the crab tender on the inside. This dish flavoured with the spices and Xacuti masala delivered the quintessential Goan experience right in the city. For your own portion of this feast, dial the number now.
