If you love burgers and can gobble them up fast enough, sign up for the second edition of Burgerthon, a competition that tests your burger eating skills. Presented by Hard Rock Cafe, the nationwide challenge - across seven cafes in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune - is part of their World Burger Tour festival featuring classic flavours from across the globe.
To participate, you need to fill up a form and based on a lucky draw, eight winners will get to show off their burger eating skills on Friday. While the challenge is open to participants below 16 years, they need to be accompanied by a guardian. The idea is to test you on the time taken to finish a loaded burger. The one to devour it the fastest gets goodies as well as a mention on the wall of fame. You can pick from varieties like The Quesadilla Burger, The New Delhi, The Riviera Burger, Argentinian-style Tango Salsa Burger, Lebanese Burger, The Sucker Punch and The Tennessee BBQ Burger.
Jay Singh, co-founder and executive director, JSM Corporation India (that owns HRC), shares, "Last year, a few participants had come armed with strategies, like one of them soaked the burger buns in water, hence, reducing the time needed to chew them. A participant ate each item of the burger separately. After hosting the challenge at different cafes, we had a national contest where the winner finished a massive burger in just 28 seconds."
