The Pune Farmers' Market

The Pune Farmers' Market (PFM) — that began in December 2012 — is a pioneering whole foods and lifestyle initiative. In the age of culinary adventures and return to natural foods, there’s a lifestyle market that is a source of exceptional Indian produce.

Mark the coming date as one can not only experience exquisite cookery demonstrations by chefs as well as home bakers but also meet a fresh and novel array of exhibitors who will showcase their artisanal produce from across the country and enjoy the opportunity to explore new restaurants and old favourites in a ‘pop-up’ experience.

There are a host of activities at the PFM for all to enjoy

Karen Anand, founder of the concept, shares, “We are very excited that a concept like the Farmers Market has taken off the way it has. In fact, we are overwhelmed at the response and at the number of start-ups in the organic sector along with people doing different things in the world of food and drink. We are delighted to be able to provide a platform that is alternative yet fun”.

Smita Kulkarni, from Smitten Cupcakes, home bakery adds, “I just love the vibe of the whole Pune Farmers’ Market; where on a Sunday, you can come and spend the whole day with your friends and family. Also, it’s a great way to market your product.”

PFM is the perfect place for people who love cooking such as retail store owner, Eddie Aldape from Tutto Bene Delicatessen. “What I love about the Farmers Market is that you get to meet different people, have a good time, and listen to good music”, he says. Turning the tables around, Mayank Tiwari, ex-executive chef at Olive Bistro points out, “I quite love the variety in general. There are so many things from different walks of life.”

PFM is definitely one of our recommends for it is a good opportunity to spend a Sunday leisurely enjoying the weather, eating, drinking, learning and meeting other food and drink enthusiasts.
